Saturday Jam

My husband and I have been learning some songs to gig with. We’ve been listening to Neko Case and the New Pornographers (a Canadian singer-songwriter supergroup) and set about recording their song ‘Go Places’ today.

I like the discipline of recording in one take. I have to get the pitch right (or close to) all the way through, which means I really need to support my breath and think about how to create the best vowel sounds, and I have to listen carefully to Nathan’s strumming and not speed up or slow down. It’s so blissful not having to play the guitar! Singing and playing guitar takes way too much brain power! And it’s great to be back with my man 🙂
